How much is shipping?

All of our curated gifts are shipped for $10.* An additional $6 alcohol handling fee applies to wine shipments, which must by law be signed for by an adult over 21 and cannot be left. 

We also offer a $5 flat rate shipping method for many orders (details below).

*If you are ordering a variety of products from our website or curating your own gift, you will be shown real time Fedex and USPS calculated rates to choose from.

In cases where the gift presentation or safe and timely arrival of an order is essential, we can also offer hand delivery of larger orders to communities across California. Contact us for delivery fees.

When will my order be delivered?

That depends on the shipping method you select. For specific estimates, you may check the USPS website, Fedex website, or inquire with us. 

For local deliveries, we generally deliver within 2 days or on the date you request on the cart page/by email. We do not deliver on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. 

I hear you offer $5 shipping on orders over $75? Tell me more!

We are thrilled to offer a $5 flat rate shipping option that applies to most orders. Your order may be hand delivered or delivered via GSO (GLS), USPS or Fedex. We cannot accept requests for specific shipping methods with the $5 flat rate shipping or guarantee a specific arrival date. Shipping method is at the discretion of the shipper at the time of shipping.

Exclusions include wine, all gifts, tortilla chips, bottled beverages, glass food jars over 4oz, fresh cheese, discounted bulk options (like our bulk ceramic coasters), and orders over 20 pounds. If your order includes one of these items, you will be shown carrier calculated rates at check-out to choose from. 

Do you have a store in Santa Barbara?

Yes! We have a shop where you can come purchase our products! Some of our California products specific to other locales are not in store, but are available for viewing or pickup by request. We're located just a few blocks from the courthouse at 214 E. Victoria Street, between Garden and Santa Barbara streets. You can always call us at (805) 845-3700 if you have any questions.

Where do you offer hand delivery?

We deliver to homes, businesses, and hotels in the Santa Barbara area. We ship nationwide.

What happens if my recipient isn't home for a local delivery?

If your recipient isn't home, our delivery person will use their best judgment if it's appropriate and secure to leave the gift. We can never leave a wine gift, since gifts with wine require a signature of an adult 21+. Please provide an address where you expect someone will be present during delivery hours.

In some cases where the delivery location is far from our headquarters, especially if your gift contains wine, we may call your recipient to let them know we have a special delivery and ask if they will be home during our delivery window. 

We can often accommodate same day delivery, but we recommend calling and speaking with someone to receive confirmation.

Can I include a gift note?

Yes! When you click the "Cart" icon and scroll down, just above the "Checkout" button there is a field where you can tell us what you would like your note to say AND provide us with the desired delivery date. Your note will be handwritten on our house stationery or you can select a special greeting card.  

If you forget and/or are unable to locate the right field, feel free to email us the information at info@santabarbaracompany.com or just reply to your email receipt.

I am delivering a gift to a local hotel. How does this work?

If you are sending one gift to a guest at a hotel, we will drop the gift at the hotel front desk so that they can either deliver it to the recipient's room or alert the guest that the gift is being held at the front desk.

If you are ordering gifts for a group or a special event, you probably have a contact at the hotel. We can deliver gifts to their care so they can ensure that you or your guests receive the gifts on time. Just provide us with their name. We can also coordinate delivery directly with you or an onsite planner. 

Some hotels won't accept a gift unless they can locate the correct room number (so you'll need to know the name the room has been booked under). Other hotels won't verify that they have a guest staying with them for privacy reasons. You may wish to call the hotel to let them know you have a gift being delivered and to find out their policies. We are happy to work with your needs and their policies. 

What happens if my order is undeliverable and I decide to cancel the order?

For local delivery orders, we will refund your order minus a $20 fee to cover the time and cost of assembly and the local delivery charge (if delivery has been attempted).

If a shipped package is returned to us due to an address error or failure of the recipient to pick up at a Fedex location, we are happy to refund resalable items as store credit. Perishable items (including wine in most cases) cannot be refunded. 

What's your return policy?

Our goal is that you will love your purchases! If you are not completely satisfied with an item you have purchased, you may return it to us. Perishable items like olive oil and personal care products are final sale.  Non-perishable items must be returned within 30 days of receipt. Some non-perishable items can be extended to 60 days for store credit. Items need to be returned to us in the original condition with the original packaging. Gift wrap and custom gift basket fees are generally not refundable. The customer is responsible for return shipping. For further instructions, please email info@santabarbaracompany.com.

While we take every care in packing and shipping your purchases, mistakes happen. If you received the wrong product or it arrives defective or damaged, please email us immediately at info@santabarbaracompany.com with your full name and order number, a photo and a brief description of the problem (including any packaging issues, if applicable). We will get back to you as soon as possible with a solution.

If a shipped package is returned to us due to an address error, we are happy to refund resalable items as store credit.

How long will it take for my order to ship?

We generally ship orders 1-3 days after the order is placed, unless otherwise specified. Need your order ASAP? Feel free to let us know and we will do our best to honor your request and ship same or next day.

I make a product that I think you might be interested in carrying. How can I contact you?

We are always pleased to learn about new products, whether or not they are the right fit for us. Please email us with pictures and any relevant information and we will get back to you. Keep in mind that nearly all the products we carry are crafted in California and reflect the essence of our community in a meaningful way. 

Why are there no shipping methods showing up at check-out?

Does your gift contain fresh flowers? Flowers are currently only available for local hand delivery to these zip codes.  

Wine cannot be shipped to a PO Box. It ships only via Fedex or local hand delivery.
